Job: Java Programmer/Developer

As the Java Programmer, you will lead the development of application systems by translating business requirements into effective technology solutions. You serve as the senior development expert for application development projects, reporting to the Project Manager.

- Manages development of assigned application projects – in this case eCommerce and mobile!

- Provides technical expertise in the identification, evaluation and development of cost effective and efficient applications.
- Designs and develops application architecture & technical specifications, and helps define infrastructure requirements.
- Works with the business analysts to translate presentation formats into user interfaces, web interfaces, reports and forms.
- Performs unit testing.

- Provides hands-on development and support for critical business applications.
- Serves as escalation contact for application system problems or outages.
- Makes recommendations and implements solutions to eliminate future production problems and service outages.
- Performs configuration and implementation of vendor supplied application software.
- Works with the infrastructure team to identify and correct application performance issues.

- 3+ years of experience writing Java-based websites.
- Experience using WebSphere or Sterling Applications.
- In-depth knowledge of systems development methodologies, database systems and development techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate technical and design strategies to developers
- Strong problem solving and analysis skills.
